NATALI
TIMAKOVA
etno-folk artist
"I work in a style I call ethno-folk symbolism. It’s not just about folk culture - it’s a new version of it in modern portrait art. Each woman in my work shows the spirit of a natural element, an archetype, or an emotion.

I don’t copy traditional costumes or ornaments exactly. Instead, I use symbols, textures, and patterns that feel intuitive and emotional.

The woman in the painting is not just a person - she is an archetype, a myth, a poem, a charm. Behind every painting there is a real character - a woman I imagine clearly while I paint. I always feel her personality, her energy, her story. Even if she is a symbol or an element, for me she is alive.

My paintings are a mix of cultural memory and my personal connection to the female soul. Each painting holds a part of my own spirit - and reflects something shared by millions of women, no matter their race, culture, age, or appearance."

BIOGRAPHY

Natali Timakova is an artist from Moscow working in her own style of ethno-folk symbolism. With a background in analytics and many years of experience in corporate management, finance, and marketing, Natali combines strategic thinking with a deep interest in visual culture and design.

This combination of logic and aesthetics shapes her artistic language. Although she has no formal academic education in painting, Natali developed her style independently — guided by deep visual sensitivity, intuition, and personal exploration. For her, art has become a space where she can speak about complex things - through images, symbols, and harmony.

Her passion for fashion, graphic, and jewelry design - developed through courses and creative projects - gave her a strong sense of form, decoration, and texture. These elements became part of her painting style: gold leaf, surface detail, ornaments, and jewelry-like accents give each work a layered and sculptural feel.

Natali is a winner and participant of both Russian and international design projects, including Fashion & Crafts (Swedish Institute), the Biennale of Innovative Textiles, and exhibitions at the All-Russian Museum of Decorative Arts.

Today, painting for her is a form of intuitive storytelling - a way to express feminine energy, myth, emotion, and archetype through color, shape, and inner light.
